South Carolina Pharmacist License

Pharmacist in South Carolina

A license is necessary to practice pharmacy in the state of South Carolina.

Requirements include:

  • Must pass the NAPLEX
  • Must pass the MPJE
  • 1500 internship hours
  • Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • No criminal record
  • 2 character vouchers from licensed pharmacists

Application also requires:

  • $100 fee
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • 2 passport style photos

Foreign graduates and non-US citizen have additional requirements:

  • Must pass FPGEE
  • Must pass TOEFL

South Carolina also allows licensure by reciprocity.

To maintain a pharmacist license in South Carolina, pharmacists need 15 CE (continuing education) credits every year.  Half of the credits must be about drug therapy and patient management.  Six must be live.

  1. Is it always mandatory to have your current employer verify your working status during the reciprocal process? I’m doing this for the future and it might be a negative with my supervisor
