Pharmacist in North Carolina
A license is necessary to practice pharmacy in the state of North Carolina.
Requirements include:
- Must pass the NAPLEX
- Must pass the MPJE
- 1500 internship hours (at least 1000 hours from community or hospital pharmacy)
- Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- No criminal record
- At least 18 years of age
Application also requires:
- $100 fee
- Copy of birth certificate
- Passport style photo
Foreign graduates and non-US citizen have additional requirements:
- Must pass FPGEE
- Must pass TOEFL
North Carolina also allows licensure by reciprocity, except from California for a $600 fee.
To maintain a pharmacist license in North Carolina, pharmacists need 15 CE (continuing education) credits every year. Eight credits must be live.
