Pharmacist in New York
A license is necessary to practice pharmacy in the state of New York.
Requirements include:
- Must pass the NAPLEX
- Must pass the MPJE
- 1040 internship hours if ACPE or CCAPP accredited program graduate, 2080 internship hours if non-accredited program graduate, exempt if Pharm D
- Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- No criminal record
- Good moral character
Application also requires:
- $339 fee
- Compounding Written and Practical Exam
Foreign graduates and non-US citizen have additional requirements:
- Must pass FPGEE
- Must pass TOEFL
New York also allows licensure by reciprocity.
To maintain a pharmacist license in New York, pharmacists need 45 CE (continuing education) credits every 3 years. Three credits must be on drug errors and prevention. Twenty three credits must be live.
