Pharmacist in Louisiana
A license is necessary to practice pharmacy in the state of Louisiana.
Requirements include:
- Must pass the NAPLEX
- Must pass the MPJE
- 1500 internship hours (maximum 1000 hours from school externship)
- Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- No criminal record
- Good moral character
- At least 21 years of age
Application also requires:
- $300 fee
- A passport style photo
- Copy of birth certificate
Foreign graduates and non-US citizen have additional requirements:
- Must pass FPGEE
- Must pass TOEFL
Louisiana also allows licensure by reciprocity, except from California.
To maintain a pharmacist license in Louisiana, pharmacists need either 15 CE (continuing education) credits every year with 3 live credits or 20 credits every year.
