Pharmacist in District of Columbia
A license is necessary to practice pharmacy in the District of Columbia.
Requirements include:
- Must pass the NAPLEX
- Must pass the MPJE
- 1500 independent internship hours or 1000 hours from ACPE approved program
- Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- No criminal record
- Good moral character
- At least 18 years of age
Application also requires:
- $280 application fee
- 2 passport size photos
Foreign graduates and non-US citizen have additional requirements:
- Must pass FPGEE
- Must pass TOEFL
The District of Columbia also allows licensure by reciprocity.
To maintain a pharmacist license in the District of Columbia, pharmacists need 30 CE (continuing education) credits every 2 years.
